**this project started in early 2024 and is ongoing. It is led by Anessa, with support from Ben and the rest of the YMC team.

After the success of our UK campaign, we decided to replicate that project in Hong Kong since it is the home of many of YMC's volunteers and is a city where mental health remains very stigmatised with policies and resources that are under-developed. In early parts of 2024, we formed a school council with students from 100+ different schools. Through dozens of meetings and focus groups, we gathered information on the main issues that they believe are causing mental health issues among teenagers and solutions to solve these problems.

Using the information we collected, we created a comprehensive, but accessible survey that is being given to students across HK. By distributing it strategically, we have ensured the responses collected are representative of the demographic of teenagers in Hong Kong regarding age and type of school they attend. The survey was distributed via a variety of methods, including by word of mouth, through schools and tutoring centres, etc.

August update: we have successfully collected 5,000 responses and will no longer use the responses submitted. However, we have kept the survey open if you are interested in finding out more.
