The long story...

Youth Minds Collective was founded as Mental Health Notebook in the summer of 2020 by Ben and Katelyn since both of them have close family members who dealt with mental health issues. While MHN (now Youth Minds Collective) has expanded globally to countless different initiatives and worked with hundreds of politicians, charities and schools worldwide, their goal has always been to empower teenagers and advocate for their mental health.

As life got busier for the two of them in the final year of high school with college applications and public exams, Ben and Katelyn decided to shut down Mental Health Notebook, proud of what they have accomplished in two short years. However, they were soon approached by younger students who appreciated, and personally benefitted, from MHN's work and wanted to join and play a part in the charity. In the past two years, this team has collectively taken our organisation further than it has ever gone. Youth Minds Collective is now run by Ben and Megan. However, what we accomplished in the past wouldn't be possible without every volunteer who's worked for us throughout YMC's history - a few notable persons are highlighted in the 'past contributors' page on our website.

As Youth Minds Collective enters its fourth year of operations, we would sincerely like to thank all our team members, past and present, for their unwavering support and dedication in helping us further our cause. With an ever-expanding team of volunteers and ambitious ideas, we are excited by what our future holds!

Free therapy for 100+ teens

Youth Minds Collective has recruited over 100 professional, licensed psychologists who have been kind enough to offer therapy services for students, who want to get better but couldn't afford to. We started this program in the UK, but has since expanded to Hong Kong during the past year.

Our combined social media channels and sites have over 10k followers. We regularly use the power of content to promote better well-being among teenagers. Many of our followers have been part of our charity for 3+ years and affirmed how our 'reels', podcast, or magazine has helped them get through hard times as a teenager.

Speaking at UK Parliament

Our founders and presidents were invited by members of Parliament in the UK to speak at Westminster after their mental health survey/report caught their attention. We have since played a role in policy decisions and party manifestos while regularly meeting with government officials to discuss possible policies and initiatives.

Research project

Youth Minds Collective conducted a research project that involved a school council with 200+ students from different schools and a comprehensive survey with over 5,000 responses. This report formed the basis of their collaboration with government officials in the UK and Hong Kong.
